How does make-up affect your life? 

Oftentimes, I get asked why I want to pursue make-up artistry and why do I aspire to become a celebrity make-up artist someday.. I have countless reasons to get drowned by the words of others, but among all these voices I heard, the sound of passion, and genuineness is the topmost reason why I continued and took on the journey towards my dreams in life. 

I want to become a celebrity make-up artist someday, because this is where I am genuinely happy, other than just for the sake of fame, I love expressing my passion for art through bringing out the beauty of other people from within.

I love seeing beautiful smile that comes from their hearts upon finishing their look.. I love how make-up is one size fits all for everyone, despite our differences.. Make-up is something that brings out the best in them, something that boosts their confidence to do whatever it is and conquer the world. 

As of the moment, I am already in my 4th year as a make-up artist. And I usually do this job while I am finishing my studies, since my Senior High school days. It all started when I was still in high school with the heartfelt emotion I felt when I began to practice and collect make-up back then. It is one of my core memories and reasons that I consider why I began to be in love and  be passionate with make-up so deeply.

From theater plays, classroom presentations, and parties. I carried myself out of drive and showcased my love for makeup, despite the fact that I wasn't even recognizing my real identity back then. But then I continued honing my skills over and over again.. And during my journey, I fell short out of my passion because of my past experiences and the words I received from those people who are around me. I began to question myself, "If this is really worth trying for? or  Am I not wasting my time on this kind of passion I have? or Am I just really trying hard even though I am not good at it?' These were the questions that came into my mind when I was  on the verge of giving up with make-up.

Indeed, starting a business especially when it comes to art is really hard. Not everyone will get to see the beauty behind your masterpiece nor will they understand it.. For some people, they just don't want to see you winning in life. That's why they don't see much of your passion from what you're doing. It really takes a lot of time, passion and effort to build your name, and to be known by others.

These chaotic experiences have led me to become who I am today. Despite it being the reason why, I became blinded and pressured with the opinions that don’t really matter at all in my life. I began to see the silver lining out of it.. That there are still many reasons to continue doing the things I loved the most, and that there are also a lot of people who look up to and believe in me.

Truly, my dreams are still far from reach, but what matters most is that I am already far from what I used to be.. I guess without all the love, and support I received from those who genuinely believe in me since day one, I wouldn't be able to reach this far...

I may not be able to have the same progress, and fame among other artists today, but I am certain that my high school self is very much happy, and proud of what I have become. And if you ask me again why I wanted to pursue this job? Simply because, I want to return the love, and passion that ignites me to pursue this. I want to share my talent, and inspire others to never stop pursuing the things that make them happy. I want to let them know that they are uniquely beYOUtiful in their own way, and that they are worthy and capable of facing the world.

Let us be reminded that there are no shortcuts to success in life. Be patient and work hard every day, for this will lead us to an end that makes everything worth it. Never even give up even when things get hard, because you can be anything, if you work hard and dedicate your life to your chosen career.
